Cheesmur have constructed many high quality residential projects for domestic and private clients, developers and social landlords. We have established excellent relationships with many of the resident social landlords across the region and are firmly committed to successfully partnering with all clients. We are fully aware of the economic and time related requirements of commercial clients and work closely with them to achieve the quality and finish whilst adhering to the client’s budgetary and time restraints.

Commercial

Construction works for commercial clients has long formed a significant part of the Company’s workload. We have particular experience and expertise in working in sensitive situations providing a service within occupied premises whilst minimising disruption to the end users and occupants alike. Full and detailed assessments and working method statements are researched and prepared to fully protect the health, safety and security of staff, visitors, site operatives and the general public.

Educational establishments are working communities and we liaise closely with them to ensure that we work within the constraints of the academic programme. Once again health, safety and security are key issues around the entire site and designated access routes. By working closely with the end users in understanding their key drivers and in concentrating fully on programmes and work methods, we can minimise disturbances during lecture and exam periods and ensure that more disruptive work is programmed at less sensitive times.

As befits a Company founded in 1936 we have extensive expertise in building restoration and this has allowed us to undertake substantial refurbishment and construction projects within the heritage sector. Our skilled conservation team have vast experience of working on many of our local prestigious buildings, including the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, and combine both traditional and innovative methods to achieve quality and lasting finishes.

Our facilities management team undertakes many planned and responsive maintenance projects for Local Authorities and educational establishments. These include residential care homes, local government offices, resident social landlords and private homes across the region. We provide an excellent 24/7 service whilst maintaining close communication and pro-active working relationships with our clients.

The Company has considerable experience and has completed a number of projects for private clients and has also worked closely with the local health authorities and local hospitals. Past projects include a number of new doctor’s surgeries, the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath and the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

Working closely in partnership with either our own supply chain of local architects, engineers and specialist consultants or those novated as our clients preferred choice, Cheesmur is able to offer a comprehensive Design and Build service. Our team has extensive experience in the successful delivery of this form of procurement in residential, commercial, health and retail projects. This enables us to place a vast range of knowledge and expertise at the clients disposal, which allows us to fully achieve the clients requirements in an economic, timely and sustainable manner.

Cheesmur actively promotes the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and the Cheesmur team has a wealth of experience in the use of technologies such as timber frame, SIPS construction and green and brown roofing systems. We are fully committed to the concept of sustainable construction and as a Chartered Building Company our contracts team have successfully completed many schemes to Eco Homes standards. As part of our ongoing continuing professional development we are prepared for the new challenges of the Code for Sustainable Construction and Site Waste Management Plans. We continue to train and support our staff to ensure they are equipped to deliver the high levels of service for which J Cheesmur has become known.
