Following a successful tender process and an extensive value engineering exercise carried out in close collaboration with the Client Team, Cheesmur Team been appointed to carry out the full refurbishment of the Malling Centre in Lewes for Lewes Town Council. Built in the early 1970’s this popular community building has been extended twice since – once to provide sports changing facilities and once to provide a popular social club. Part of the building houses East Sussex Children’s Services local centre, and the remaining community space is used for a host of activities and events. Our comprehensive refurbishment of the Centre will see it modernized and given a whole new lease of life, benefitting from new ground source heat pumps and pv panels to provide a modern and well-appointed newly renovated building. On completion the centre will offer a vibrant community space, with links to outdoor facilities, spaces for public hire, sports changing rooms, and a social area/café for the benefit of local residents.
