Notcutts Garden Pride

Cheesmur Building Contractors were appointed by a National Retail chain to assist them in refurbishing one of their flagship Garden Retail outlets in West Sussex in January 2019.

Their requirements were to increase their available sales area whilst simultaneously constructing a new 1200 cover restaurant in a former storage warehouse at the rear of the site.

The project called for the construction of new steel framed buildings located around the site for retail sales and storage use, the installation of new Welfare Facilities for both the staff and customers alike, external garden areas under the cover of a series of specialist Glazed Polytunnels, a new Entrance Statement as well as all new incoming services to power and heat the refurbished site.

The multi-phased works were programmed to meet the client's preferred sequencing and were undertaken whilst the Centre remained open for business as usual!

We were able to work closely with the Client and their team throughout the scheme to carefully organise and agree the complex logistics of managing not only the build process including the access for labour and materials to the various areas of the works, but also the careful management of the customers who continued to enjoy the shopping experience that they had come to expect from this fine establishment.

To assist the project team we were able to take on a number of the design disciplines behind the scenes allowing the Client to concentrate on the final aesthetic of the restaurant and new sales areas.
