The Weller Youth Centre is a collaborative build between Brighton & Hove City Council and the Hangleton & Knoll Project, designed to provide a sustainable, modern, versatile hub for local youth services. Working with Cityzen, the project was designed to produce a highly efficient and ‘low carbon in use ’building. To achieve these sustainability goals and ensure a durable finish, the facility was constructed using a structural insulated panel system and robust metal rainscreen cladding. The initial phases included the completion of the substructure in partnership with Amerra Groundworks.
The project provided a comprehensive suite of brand new facilities including a multi-use hall for activities and events , dedicated office space and a private meeting room, full kitchen facilities and accessible WCs.
The client was extremely happy with the end result saying, “The National Youth Agency and some local young people visited together last weekand were all blown away, it looks beautiful”.
